Once upon a time there was a woman who decided to leave the corporate world, embrace her dream to work for herself and spend more time with her family. This dream is now my reality and I am blessed to be able to do the school run every morning and afternoon and I have also built a successful business. I also have to meet deadlines and ensure my valued customers (that's you) receive their products in a prompt manner and know they are dealing with a business they can trust! Has it been easy? ... The Best of British ... and what it means to Yummikeys! I was watching the news this week and the BBC were in Leeds speaking to local business owners about their concerns and questions with the looming general election (don’t worry - I am not going to talk politics). We set up Yummikeys on 1 July 2017 and have had a pretty incredible first year. We've been busier than we could have imagined and had some really wonderful customer feedback and blogger reviews. But the icing on the cake for us had been to find out that we've been shortlisted for a Junior Design Award 2018, for the Best Eco Toy Award. There were over 250 businesses shortlisted and as far as we know, only 3 are from small businesses. Our toys are 100% plastic free and made to last a lifetime as a keepsake and to be played with by subsequent children. They're non-toxic and we are careful to reduce our environmental footprint. So it means a huge...
Over the years I've come to the conclusion that teachers teach very little. Children have an innate ability and desire to learn and good educators develop the children's skills by providing the right opportunities at the right time.
